Major Vehicle Collision on Northside Road Results in Fatality

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On the morning of November 5, 2024, at approximately 7:17 a.m., the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision on Northside Road (Route 75) near Estate Morning Star. The Traffic Investigation Bureau was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate that a silver Toyota Tacoma truck had come to a stop after being flagged down by an individual requesting a ride. The operator of a scooter, identified as 65-year-old Mr. Robert A. Serrano, collided with the rear of the stationary truck. Mr. Serrano, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital for medical treatment.

Despite efforts to save him, the attending physician pronounced Mr. Serrano deceased upon arrival at the hospital.

The VIPD Traffic Investigation Bureau is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. This case remains open, and authorities are working to determine the full details of the incident.

The Virgin Islands Police Department extends its condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Serrano during this difficult time.
