Founded in 2024, Yellow Cedar Media Group draws inspiration from its namesake, the official flower of the Virgin Islands. Like the yellow cedar tree, which is both beautiful and resilient, our mission is to embody these qualities as we work to uplift and strengthen our community.

Yellow Cedar Media Group was created by Peter Bailey from St. Thomas and Jed JohnHope from St. Croix, who met while attending the University of Delaware in the late 90s. Their deep passion for the Virgin Islands and shared vision inspired them to create a platform for positive change and storytelling.

We encourage all Virgin Islanders, young and old, to rise up and “do something.” Every step we take moves the territory forward, and together, we can make miles of progress.

At Yellow Cedar, we live by the African principle of ubuntu – “I am great because we are great.” We believe that individual success is rooted in collective progress, and through unity, we can create a brighter future for the Virgin Islands.
