U.S. Virgin Islands – The U.S. Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Planning Commission (LEPC), with funding from the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), is pleased to announce the opening of the funding application period for the FY 2022 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.
Moreover, proposals will be accepted from Monday, November 25, 2024, through Friday, February 7, 2025.
The Edward Byrne Memorial JAG Program is the primary source of federal funding for criminal justice initiatives.
These funds support a wide range of efforts aimed at reducing crime and violence, including programs focused on law enforcement, drug treatment and enforcement, juvenile delinquency prevention, victim support, and behavioral health programs.
Additionally, applications for summer programs with a criminal justice or crime prevention focus are encouraged. They have funding ranging from $10,000 to $40,000 per application.
Moreover, Eligible applicants include private nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, government agencies, law enforcement programs, youth programs, rehabilitation and drug treatment initiatives, and behavioral health services.
All applicants must focus on initiatives that support crime prevention and law enforcement. Moreover, they should look for improvements to the criminal justice system.
Nonprofit organizations applying for funding must include the following documents in their application:
- A valid Unique Entity ID (UEI) number
- Registration on SAM.gov
- IRS Determination Letter for 501(c)(3) status
- Articles of Incorporation
- Current Certificate of Good Standing from the Lt. Governor’s Office
Please note that incomplete applications or those missing required documents will be disqualified. Moreover, all applications must be submitted electronically to [email protected] by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025.
