U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The U.S. Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Planning Commission (LEPC), with funding from the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity through the FY 2020 Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) for State Prisoners Program.
Proposals will be accepted starting Monday, November 25, 2024, and the application deadline is Friday, February 7, 2025.
The RSAT program aims to support the development and implementation of residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment programs within state correctional and detention facilities.
This initiative focuses on addressing the intersection of substance use and mental health disorders among incarcerated individuals, providing treatment programs for those serving sentences long enough to benefit from such services.
The RSAT funding also supports the creation and maintenance of community reintegration services, emphasizing evidence-based best practices. Three types of programs are eligible for funding: residential, jail-based, and aftercare programs. Priority will be given to applications that involve partnerships with community-based substance use treatment programs.
Nonprofit organizations applying for the RSAT funding must include the following documents with their application:
– Valid Unique Entity ID (UEI) number
– Registration on SAM.gov
– IRS Determination Letter confirming 501(c)(3) status
– Articles of Incorporation
– A current Certificate of Good Standing from the Lt. Governor’s Office
Applications missing any of the required documentation by the deadline will be disqualified. All applications must be submitted electronically to [email protected] by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025, with all necessary signatures and documents included.
