St Croix USVI View

USVI – The U.S. Virgin Islands is celebrating national recognition as three St, Croix favorites have been nominated in the prestigious USA TODAY 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards. The nominations bestow a great honor and recognition for the hard work that the USVI has done recently to bring its travel sector up to world standards.

The nominations are:

Best Caribbean Beach Bar

Deep End Bar & Grill, Christiansted, St. Croix

Best Caribbean Resort

The Buccaneer Resort, St. Croix

Best Caribbean Rum

Cruzan Rum Distillery, St. Croix

These national recognitions are a point of pride for the Territory and underscore the USVI’s appeal, blending historic charm with casual island vibes. The strong showing of having three nominations reflects the USVI’s diverse offerings, from luxury stays to local flavor, inviting visitors from all over the world to explore its unique Caribbean charms.

The Buccaneer Resort is a legendary, historic resort established in 1947. It is known for its stunning beaches, challenging golf course that runs along the ocean, and its family-friendly atmosphere.

The Cruzan Rum Distillery is a centuries-old rum producer, with roots that date back to 1760, producing 20-plus flavors of rum that offers a taste of island heritage and world-renowned spirits.

The Deep End Bar & Grill is a beloved beachfront spot famous for its casual vibe, live music, and beautiful sea views.

The nominations are part of the USA TODAY 10Best Awards, which feature popular destinations and attractions across the U.S. and its Territories. The awards highlight the best in travel, food and lifestyle across the United States and around the world.

“All three of these nominees tell a different story about what makes the U.S. Virgin Islands special,” said Jennifer Matarangas-King, Commissioner of Tourism for the U.S. Virgin Islands. “From a relaxed beach bar where you can listen to live music with your feet in the sand, to one of the Caribbean’s most storied resorts, to a rum distillery that has been part of St. Croix’s history for centuries, these nominations celebrate the people, places, and flavors that keep visitors coming back.”

Nominees for the awards are selected by a panel of experts and editors, with the final rankings determined by an open online vote of readers.

“These nominations are also a point of pride for St. Croix,” added Commissioner Matarangas-King. “They reflect the hard work of our hospitality teams and our long tradition of sharing food, music and rum with guests around the world.
