The Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE) reminds the public that online applications are available for the Teacher Apprenticeship Program. Interested individuals can access the application by visiting the VIDE website at https://www.vide.vi/human-resources.html#teacher-apprenticeship-application.
Accessing the application is simple: use the link provided or visit vide.vi.
- Click on “Our Divisions.”
- Select “Human Resources.”
Along with the Teacher Apprenticeship Application, applicants will find the Essay Rubric and Writing Scale. Completed applications, along with all required documents, must be submitted via email to [email protected] no later than Friday, March 28, 2025, by 5:00 pm.

This initiative was developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Labor and the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI). It is designed to address critical workforce needs by developing and retaining highly qualified educators for the Territory’s K-12 educational system.
Cohort 1 participants will include paraprofessionals who will complete 6,000 hours of on-the-job training, earn 121 college credit hours, participate in evening and summer classes, engage in collaborative learning opportunities facilitated by VIDE and UVI School of Education professors.
The Teacher Apprenticeship Program is a result of the combined efforts of the following key partners: Office of the Governor, Virgin Islands Department of Education, Virgin Islands Department of Labor, Virgin Islands Board of Education, University of the Virgin Islands School of Education, Workforce Development Board, American Job Center, and Equus Workforce Solutions.
