St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands— The Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) is investigating the death of a man found injured at the former Embers Guest House on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
At approximately 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, the 911 Call Center received multiple reports from concerned citizens. They observed what appeared to be blood outside one of the guest rooms at the former hotel. VIPD officers responded to the scene and made contact with a black male lying on a bed. It appears to have suffered a head injury and showed signs of life.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived shortly thereafter and transported the man to the Schneider Regional Medical Center. Despite efforts to save his life, the victim was later pronounced deceased by medical staff at the hospital. Moreover, the identity of the male is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
At this time for death Investigation, the cause of death remains unknown, pending an autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Office. However, the case is being actively investigated by the VIPD’s Major Crimes Unit.
The Virgin Islands Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward and help in death Investigation.
